In this section we observed that the Anjuna SGX Runtime can run on any host system, locally or in the cloud, provided that it has the required supporting hardware and one of the supported operating-system versions. The Anjuna SGX Runtime requires Intel® SGX support and a supported version of Ubuntu.
We discussed how to obtain the correct Anjuna installer for your chosen system, and how to run it to install the Anjuna SGX Runtime and its associated tools.
Before you can use the Anjuna SGX Runtime conveniently, your shell environment must define several variables. We discussed how to set up your login shell so that it automatically defines those variables.
In the next section we’ll take a look at the first steps in actually using the Anjuna SGX Runtime to protect your applications' sensitive data.
